creative holiday camp for children

Sončni log estate, Karst (Slovenia)

On the edge of the village Hudi log in the Karst there is a beautiful estate. On the estate stands a lovely house, and in front of it grows a wide-branched tree. From its branches hang three colourful aerial silks. Next to the tree there is a round stone table, beside the house a field of fragrant lavender, in front a large meadow, and by the meadow a colourful little fairy-tale house.

Everything is perfectly prepared for us to once again create magical, fragrant and wildish holidays. We will dance on the silks, make our own aromatic cosmetics, sharpen our sense of smell, distill plants, create things with our hands, wake up barefoot in the grass and play instruments. And of course we will also do some relaxing – after all, it is a holiday.

We will become artists in nature, creating with stones, wood, moss, leaves and branches – with whatever we find around the estate.

The camp is a mixture of free play, learning new skills and discovering what nature can offer us. What can we use for food? What helps with health, insect bites, burns or skin care? How can we provide for ourselves in the most natural way?

How do we cultivate a relationship with nature? By listening to it and becoming artists together with it. Nature and all living things within it are also alive within us.

Children will be divided into two age groups that will rotate between the aerial silk workshops and natural cosmetics workshops.

We will sleep in tents on the meadow.

Please bring a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, your favourite instrument, clothes you no longer wear (for creative reuse) and one small p-ersonal gift for our lucky draw – and lots of curiosity and openness for new friendships.

 

Approximate daily schedule

8–9 am – Morning movement circle (games, exercises, sharing feelings)
9–10 am – “Wild” self-service breakfast
10 am–12 pm – Aerial silk / Natural cosmetics workshop
12–2 pm – LAND ART (creating with nature, in nature)
2–3 pm – “Wild” lunch cooked on the fire
4–6 pm – Aerial silk / Natural cosmetics workshop
Free play, exploring and creating
6–7 pm – Dinner
Evening fire, music jam, singing, dancing, gathering
From 10 pm – Quiet time and listening to the night birds in our tents

 

PRICE

330 € (registration and payment before May 1)
350 € (after May 1 until places are filled)

The number of children is limited to 15, so early registration is recommended.

The price includes accommodation, food, professional workshops, materials and packaging for the natural cosmetics you will take home, as well as other art materials.

 

TRANSPORT

Transport from Ljubljana to the Karst will be organized by van.
Additional cost: 20 €

Children will be picked up on June 28 at 16:00 in front of Waldorf School Ljubljana.

At the end, on Thursday July 2 at 16:00, parents are invited to come and see what we created during the camp. We will present a short impression of our four days together: aerial silk tricks, edible plants we discovered, the cosmetics we made, our artworks and the music we played.

The camp is intended for children who are independent and curious, who love exploring nature and wish to learn new movement, artistic and survival skills.

Children should come without phones.

During the camp there will be no daily phone calls with parents and no early departures home. In urgent cases children can use the mentors’ phone.

Photos will be taken during the camp and shared with everyone afterwards.

The camp is for children who feel comfortable spending four days away from home, so please talk about this together beforehand. This allows us to truly focus on what we come here for: exploration and creation. Thank you for your understanding.

Leader – creative artistic projects

Living connected to nature suits me deeply. It has always been my inspiration and the source of many of my creative ideas. These holidays bring together everything I truly believe in: self-sufficiency, creating with nature, wild plants, clothing exchange and aerial silk.

I love seeing children free and giving them the opportunity to express themselves through movement, creativity and openness.

Spontaneity on one side and cultivation on the other help children develop naturally and holistically. Balance is the key word – balance between courage and caution, between spontaneity and compassion.

I wish to bring children back to the simple joy of creating in nature and with nature (land art). We will discover how beautiful and magical natural materials are. We will “paint with the sun” and create artworks that will decorate our living space. The clothes we exchange will also be transformed with our hands, ideas and a sewing machine.

 

Ronja Štrukelj Kreč
Aerial silk

Performing as a dancer, performer and musician has been my dream for many years. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with anyone who wishes to learn. Our camp is a beautiful blend of different workshops.

In previous years I especially loved the moments when we played music together and spontaneously jammed.

I have practiced aerial silk since childhood and for several years helped lead workshops at the Waldorf School. I have performed at many events such as Medieval Days, Slovenia’s Got Talent (2018), Ana Desetnica (2020–2025) as part of the project River of Seven Names, the anniversary of Thermana Laško, the opening of Argonaut Days, Forest Day events in Celje, the Athlete of the Year ceremony in Medvode, Floating Castle festival and many others.

I also lead aerial silk workshops at festivals and events. In Belgrade, within the Cirko Balkana program, I performed several solo aerial performances.

I have always loved drawing, painting and creating. I adore dance, music, travelling and meeting people. I also play piano and guitar and have experimented with DJ-ing.

Urška Frančeškin
Mystical Farm – natural cosmetics, beekeeping

On my small farm in the Karst I grow herbs and vegetables. Bees and other pollinators help the garden flourish. Bees are my great passion and I love sharing their wisdom with anyone who is curious.

Life on the farm is always lively and an extra helping hand is always welcome. I love dancing, singing and playing instruments. Often I relax with guests by making music and dancing together.

I like to call my farm the Mystical Farm.

From my own fragrant plants I create hydrolats and essential oils of lavender, sage, savory and many others. From these wild and homemade ingredients we will create our own natural cosmetics. We will also learn about the life of bees and plant healing traditions.

We will distill plants in the large still on the farm.

Please bring empty containers from hydrolats or creams.

Simona Cilenšek
Kitchen & relaxation

Living in nature and staying closely connected to it has always felt like a small kind of magic to me. In nature I have always found life, peace, wisdom, rest, inspiration and a deep awareness of myself and the world around me.

During this camp I will lovingly take care that the food children enjoy is healthy, natural, local and sometimes even a little wild.

I believe that the tastes and gifts of nature nourish us not only physically, but also awaken pleasant feelings, curiosity and respect for all living things. Meals will be prepared with a focus on seasonal ingredients, local sources and simplicity that supports children’s vitality and well-being.

As a yoga teacher and explorer of therapeutic massage, I will also offer moments of mindful movement, relaxation and calming. Through yoga, short relaxation practices and gentle massage the children will be guided toward greater body awareness, connection with themselves and others, and a sense of inner comfort and balance.

I believe that with small but heartfelt steps we can create a space where children feel safe, heard, nourished and relaxed – both in body and in spirit.
