Urša Štrukelj is an interdisciplinary artist since she’s overlaping different fields, such as movement research, unique (re) design, video and poetry, where she’s always looking for new forms of creative expression.
She completed secondary School for design and photography, as industrial designer and Art school of painter Zmago Modic.
She graduated in philosophy and sociology of culture in the field of aesthetics, Artaud’s theater and film.
Participated in several contemporary dance performances and projects, she cocreated the performance, Before the rain, where she was presented as a poet, dancer, set designer and costume designer.
In parallel, she studied at many choreographic- dance and circus workshops.
2004 she cocreated group Trupa Aduta, which has created many performances and presented them at street festivals, make many shows and expand their knowledge through workshops in Slovenia and abroad.
In 2007 she cocreated the cultural ecological association Smetumet, that she was art directing it until 2013. Within the association she created artistic design awareness-raising educational projects, like exhibitions, guerrilla campaigns, creative workshops, interior design and products design, that were presented on many events, festivals, conferences, in schools and kindergartens.
As a visual artist, she’s developing her personal brand Dilight for more than 20 years, where she interplays with the light in transparent images in glass and textile pictures, unique clothing and their innovative redesign. The oil paintings received many awards.
Her work is seen as a creative energy that manifests itself through various forms of research and creation.
